Celsius located in the Nassima Royal Hotel is known for its extravagant buffets starting from breakfast and ending at dinner. The restaurant is very vibrant and colourful with contemporary interiors. The lighting is perfect to set the mood for a find dining experience. They have daily themes for their buffets, such as Mediterranean, Indian, sea food, etc..
I had visited them during the Indian festival of Diwali, they had their Hot N Spicy Indian themed night. The entrance was decorated with colourful rangoli, deeps and the idol of Buddha to signify the Diwali celebrations.
They had a large spread of salads, starters, main courses and deserts to choose from. Including live cooking counters.
For Soups they had a choice of Tomato and coriander shorba, Spiced mutton broth
Accompanied with assorted Bread – Arabic, loaf & rolls
I started with the tangy chaat. I am a fan of pani poori. The pooris were crispy filled with aloo, moong and filled with pani. Perfect taste similar to the ones served in chowpatty in Mumbai.
Apart from the regular raw salads, Beef and broccoli salads and Arabic cold mezze they also had Seafood salad, Dahi Vada, Aloo channa chaat, Methi aloo, Spicy banana flower salad, Punjabi cabbage salad.
The spread included COLD TAPAS/PLATTEERS – Cucumber raita coated Steamed salmon, Tuna and mango rillettes, Tandoori chicken terrine with mint and coriander mayo, Spiced vegetable terrine and Pumpkin mousse with roasted cumin.
The live cooking counter had Malai chicken kebab, Chicken tikka, Minted paneer tikka, Zaffrani fish skewers, Vegetable shish kebab, Uttappam- plain, tomato and onion, Dosas – masala, plain & ghee roast
Pizza-Tandoori chicken pizza
Under the Hot lamp were – Vegetable pakora, Urad Vada, Mutter dhal Vada and Aloo bonda.
The special Carving was Indian spiced roasted turkey
The main in the Hot buffet were – Baked fish in Banana leave, Mutton Rogan josh, Paneer Malai kofta, Kadai paneer, Chicken dum biriyani, Aloo jeera, Methi dhal, Steamed rice, Chilli chicken accompanied with Paratha, chapatti, papads, Raita, pickles
For Desserts were Rice kheer, Kaju barfi, Rasamalai, Laddu, Fresh fruit salad, Assorted French pastries, Chocolate mousse, Watalappan also were Hot Gulab jamun/Carrot Halwa/Jalebi
My favourite was the Rasmalai. The sweetness was just perfect.
The spread was large with many choices, all of the dishes were very tasty. At the cost of AED 149 it is really money’s worth. I would definitely recommend this place for a fine dining buffet.
