Peter Gordon a world renowned Chef from New Zealand along with two of this compatriots set up the first Gourmet Burger Kitchen in Battersea, South London. They now have around 70 restaurants in UK.

Food Quest LLC is the franchise in the GCC. They have opened three restaurants in Dubai, one in Oman and one in Saudi Arabia.

I attended a foodie meet at the GBK, located in Dubai Marina Mall. The interiors are contemporary and pretty upscale. Staff is very friendly and courteous. While we placed order, they offered us roasted shelled peanuts to munch upon.

I had the fresh Orange juice, then had the salads.

Goat Cheese Salad – Mixed lettuce, tomato, grilled goat cheese, honey, thyme, pine nuts.

GBK Salad- Mixed leaves, red onion, tomato, cucumber, capsicum, GBK dressing.

Halloumi & Strawberry Salad- Mixed lettuce, Cucumber, Grilled Halloumi Cheese & strawberry salad with balsamic dressing

We were served the starters;

Chargrilled Chicken Skewers

GBK Platter – Hot wings, homemade onion rings, halloumi bites.

Spicy Cheese Bites

Golden Fried Shrimp – Shrimp with smoked chile mayo

In the side we had a variety of Fries;

Chunky Fries – GBK Signature fries

Skinny Fries – Unique to GBK

Sweet Potato Fries – With smoked beef aioli

Skin on Fries – Our double cooked fries

For the main course we had the most awesome burgers. We had an option to have any of the burgers without the buns. I usually like to have low carbs and high proteins, this was just the kind of option I always wished.

I had the Hot Smoked BBQ burger made by 100% prime Australian Angus beef, with Smoked chili mayo, BBQ & chili salsa, American cheese and jalapeños salad. For the sides I had the Blue Cheese Slaw made with Red cabbage, chopped jalapeño, blue cheese sauce and Chargrilled Corn Served with butter.

The other foodies had the Mini Burgers, Salmon with Rocket, pickles, tartare sauce, Fiery Blue Chicken Burger with House mayo, spicy breaded chicken, blue cheese slaw, rocket.

I have not seen such presentation of Burgers before. Not only was the presentation great but also the taste was awesome. My favourite was the Chargrilled Chicken Skewers .
