Winter is approaching, I feel the chill in the air and you are attracted towards a new bee Downtown cafe. A welcoming scent of freshly brewed coffee and baked goods sweeping through the air inviting me to the cafe.
Downtown cafe is a newly opened cafe cum restaurant cum library located in Al Karama, Dubai. Inaugurated in the mid of November.
DT Cafe serves continental cuisine tweaked to suit the Indian palate. They serve hot coffees, varieties of teas, healthy filling options, salads, pastas, soups and an assortment of desserts including sizzling brownie and Kit-Kat cake. Downtown cafe caters to age groups.
The interior is very cozy & décor. As you enter, you will notice a wall dedicated to books lovers, who can sip a coffee along with reading. There are a wide variety of books, which can be read in café in diverse languages.
We started with fiery chili fries, it was super hot, perfect to set the mood. Surely a delight for someone who love spicy fries.
Crunchy cocktail shrimps – Served in margarita glass dressed in lettuce leaves with deep fried shrimps.
DT grilled chicken salad – A healthy option. Mouth watering grilled chicken served on fresh crunchy iceberg lettuce and olives salad with DT signature dressing.
Grilled Basa fish – Lightly dusted with coconut along with boiled vegetable and garlic butter.
Fusilli pasta – An al dente pasta in Alfredo sauce with Cheyenne pepper to give it a mild spicy flavor was very delightful as corkscrew shaped pasta absorbed the flavours’.
Chargrilled fish with spaghetti – Spaghetti tossed in butter n garlic topped up with grilled fish with butterbean mixed with arrabbiata sauce was quiet good and filling portion.
Chicken Portobello – Chicken portions with creamy sauce, mashed potatoes and vegetables.
Chicken Burger – Chicken patty with DT signature dressing. The mild spices make it very tasty. Was very juicy too.
Chicken A La Kiev – Stuffed chicken rolled on a bed of creamy white sauce and topped with cheese. This was the tastiest among all the dishes I had.
The best was left for the last.. deserts..
Kitkat cake, Red Velvet, Creamy Eclair, Mud Pie and Crème Brulee.
I would love to visit again to spend some time reading books and having their Chicken A La Kiev again.
